Renaissance Fair

The Renaissance Fair has the potential to be one of the best dates you've ever been on. However that is coming from a guy that loves the renaissance. One of the best thing about it is all of the shows you can see. There are sword swallowers, acrobats, torch jugglers, Dexter Tripp that walks up a tightrope that is on fire, and many other hilarious shows that you will never see any where else. Also the shops are all very original and interesting. There is a lot of symbolism in the jewelry sold there and they have all sorts of other shops from a wand shop to a incense shop, the shops there have goods you've never seen or even knew existed. The turkey legs are great and there is food being sold all over. However, it is pricey. They have elephant and camel rides. Yes, they are real elephants and camels. A lot of the extra attractions cost money, but all the shows are free. If you get the coupon online and go on presidents day or opening weekend you can get buy one get one free for tickets. The Renaissance Fair is seasonal so check on the web site for when it will be open. I highly reccomend going, but it might not be for everyone. If you don't really like the idea all that much you and your date would probably be better off with something a little more traditional. Also try to leave a little early because getting out of the parking lot after the festival just ended can be a nightmare. Overall though it's a great date!

The Kat's Corner

Kat's Corner is a nice change of pace. They have a lesson on how to swing dance and then they have their own dance afterwards. If you already know how to swing dance it's a perfect fit. However there are some things you should know. Any begginer could probably get the basic step down fairly easily, but it can be difficult to be able to learn the spins and moves that are actually fun. If your a guy you'll probably spend the first forty minutes struggling to match your steps with the moves. Also they only teach you a few moves so they can become repetitive if you are dancing for quite a while. Another thing is that if you go for the lesson they make you rotate and dance with people other than your date. So if you just want to be with your date the entire time and you already know how to dance, then just go to the dance that's after the lesson. It costs 5 bucks a person to get in if you have a student I.D. so it's pretty reasonable. Even with the drawbacks it's something fun to try and could turn out great if you take somebody you think would enjoy it.

Swimming

Swimming can be a great add on activity for many dates, but it can also be the main activity. You can play some pool games or just talk and chill for a while. It's best to do this during summer of course. One of my favorite parts of going swimming is you can stargaze with your date if you go at night. Candles and some pool lights are a nice touch as well if their available. You can also have a little picnic or a dinner outside by the pool. Another option is you could always just play some Marco Polo if your on a double date. It can be kinda romantic or just pure fun, whichever you choose.

Game Night

This date is probably better for somebody you know a little bit better and this isn't your first date with them. The title tells what most of the date is. Bust out the board and card games! Have fun with it. Some of the games I would suggest that would be fun is Apples to Apples, Curses, Aggravation, and Twister. You can also play some older more laid back games like Monopoly, Mexican Train and so on. Later in the evening you can have some ice cream or even have breakfast for dinner and make some pancakes. Another option is to play some improv games as well such as freeze frame. These can be hilarious if you have the right kind of people on the date with you. This date is definately better as a double or triple date. This date is a lot fun and a good way to mix things up a little.

Howie's Tip of The Month!

Hi i'm Howie and the dating tip for this month is to be relaxed. If your very tense your not going to enjoy your date and chances are the date won't go very well. It's perfectly normal to be a little nervous at times, but try to calm yourself and not worry so much about the date. This will make you be natural and able to be yourself. You will be able to make better conversation because your mind won't be on how nervous you are. A big part of dating is just having fun. If your not tense and worrying the whole time you'll have more fun. If your having fun it's more likely that your date will have fun being with you and if your worried about your date liking you they will probably like you more if your fun to be around. So the bottom line is that not getting to nervous for your date and being relaxed will help you tremendously while you are dating.
